What happens when we arrive?
First, we get settled. You can put down the diaper bag, feed your baby if they're hungry, and take a minute. Nobody gets graded on how smoothly the morning went.
The studio has a comfortable, home-inspired feel, with simple backgrounds and wraps ready to use. I'll talk you through the session and take care of the setup. You get the warm, connected look of lifestyle newborn photography without preparing your house for photos.
Do we need to know how to pose?
Nope. I'll guide you through the family photographs, including where to stand and what to do with your hands. We'll capture you holding your baby, the way they curl against you, and moments with siblings if they're joining us.
We'll also make time for baby-only images, including tiny details and simple wrapped portraits. The photographs should feel like your family, not like you spent the morning trying to follow a script.
What if my baby needs to eat or won't sleep?
Then we pause. Feeding, changing, soothing, and cuddling are part of a newborn session. A wide-awake baby is welcome here, too.
And if an older sibling needs a break, we roll with it. Asking a toddler to wait patiently forever would be a pretty ambitious plan. 😂
What should we bring to the studio?
Bring the things you'd normally pack for an outing with your newborn: diapers, feeding supplies, a change of clothes, and anything that helps your baby feel comfortable. I'll help you plan what to wear before your session, so that decision isn't waiting for you on a sleep-deprived morning.
You can skip: extra props, an elaborate setup, and worrying about whether your baby will cooperate perfectly.
When should we schedule newborn photos?
I typically photograph newborns when they're about 10 to 22 days old. Reach out while you're pregnant using your due date; once your baby arrives, we'll settle on the session date.
